The application window for the 2026-2027 school year opens on November 1, 2025 and closes on January 31, 2026. 

SEM accepts students who will be entering the 9th and 10th grade each school year.

According to Dallas ISD board policy, students who live within the Dallas ISD boundaries are given priority over students who live outside of the district. Out-of-district students are only considered once all qualified in-district students have been accepted. If you are not sure if you live inside of the Dallas ISD boundaries, you can search for your address here.
